We go through a lot of shorts in summer because my son is so active. These Jamaican shorts have survived better than any other pair I have bought. The fabric is sturdy but breathable, which is the combination I was looking for. He wears them with a plain light-coloured tee and sliders for home use, and switches to sneakers when we go out. The fit is comfortable through the hips and thigh. Waistband elastic is good. Colour has not faded.

I want to flag this clearly for other buyers: the sizing runs slightly large on this one. I ordered my son's usual size and there was some extra room. It was not unwearable but I would suggest going one size down if your child is average built. Quality of the fabric is good, stitching is clean, pockets work well. He wears them with a fitted graphic tee which balances the roomier fit. Otherwise a good product.

Six washes in and these shorts still look as good as when I bought them. The colour is intact and the fabric has not pilled. This is my main criteria when buying summer wear for my son because he goes through clothes fast. He wears them with a half-sleeve shirt for casual use and a simple tee for sports. Recommend.
